Job Description – Product Owner (L4)
Role Overview
The Product Owner (L4) is responsible for defining, prioritising, and delivering features for an enterprise-scale SaaS product built on Microsoft Azure. The role owns the product backlog, aligns business and customer requirements into a clear product roadmap, and works closely with engineering, QA, UX, and cross-functional teams to deliver releases efficiently.
This position requires strong decision-making capability, customer orientation, and technical understanding of cloud-based, API-driven, and enterprise-integrated applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap

Define and maintain the product vision and short-term & long-term product roadmap.

Convert business goals, market needs, regulatory requirements, and customer feedback into actionable product plans.

Work closely with leadership, architects, and stakeholders to ensure roadmap alignment with business objectives.

Identify opportunities for new features, enhancements, or technical improvements.
2. Backlog, Ownership & Prioritisation

Own, structure, and continuously refine the product backlog.

Prioritise epics, features, stories based on business value, ROI, compliance, technical feasibility, and resource capacity.

Make daily decisions required by the development team to remove ambiguity and ensure sprint progress.

Balance product roadmap items with customer customisations and change requests.
3. Requirements, User Stories & Acceptance Criteria

Write, review, and approve high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications.

Ensure clarity, completeness, and usability of requirements for development, QA, and UX teams.

Drive rigorous acceptance testing and sign-off for story completion.

Translate complex enterprise workflows into scalable system features.
4. Release & Delivery Planning

Define release goals and collaborate with engineering for release planning and roadmap execution.

Align release cycles with global deployments, enterprise schedules, and customer expectations.

Validate completed increments against acceptance criteria and customer outcomes.

Ensure documentation, training, and release notes are ready for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Stakeholder Management

Act as the single point of contact between business, customers, engineering, and QA teams.

Run regular backlog refinement, sprint planning, review, and demo sessions.

Communicate product status, release progress, and major decisions to leadership and cross-functional teams.
6. Change Request Management

Evaluate, prioritise, and manage Change Requests (CRs) from customers and internal teams.

Perform impact analysis, estimate timelines, and negotiate delivery commitments.

Maintain a structured CR lifecycle with traceability and documentation.
7. Customer-Specific Customisation & Project Support

Understand customer-specific requirements and translate them into custom feature stories.

Work with solution engineering, project delivery, and account teams for implementation readiness.

Ensure that customisations remain scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product strategy.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with architects, Azure engineers, frontend/backend teams, QA, UX, DevOps, and support teams.

Facilitate alignment with security, compliance, and performance needs for enterprise deployments.

Contribute to technical discussions related to APIs, integrations, data models, and cloud services.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills

Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, and API-driven integrations

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure ecosystem:

Knowledge of enterprise application patterns, multi-tenant architectures, and deployment models

Understanding of DevOps pipelines, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), and release orchestration

Ability to translate technical complexity into simple business understanding
Product Ownership & Agile Skills

Expert in backlog management, user story writing, and agile ceremonies

Strong prioritisation mindset (value vs effort, risk, cost, compliance)

Experience in release planning, sprint tracking, and feature lifecycle ownership

Ability to make fast daily decisions and unblock the development team

Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

6–12 years of experience in product or technical roles

Minimum 3–5 years as a Product Owner or Product Manager for SaaS/Cloud products

Certification (preferred but not mandatory):

Preferred experience in pharma supply‐chain solutions, Pharma regulations, and compliance
