Job Objective-
Ensuring timely dispatches of finished goods to the customers to maintain OTDIF as per business requirements.
A Dispatch Lead is responsible for coordinating and managing the dispatch of goods, vehicles, or service personnel to ensure timely delivery and efficient operations. The role involves supervising dispatch staff, monitoring schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
Primary Responsibilities-
Strategic and planning
- De-risking of Supply Chain by Alternate transporter.
- Ensure OTDIF as per business plan.
Core Functional
- Follows SOPs and protocols such as Transporter’s evaluation, commercial terms etc.
- Participate in Transporters and Packing material suppliers’ audits.
- Monitor shipments to avoid delay in delivery at customer end.
- Coordinate with different departments for smooth dispatch activities.
- Participate in Techno-commercial negotiations in coordination with Corporate commercial
- Plan, organize, and manage daily dispatch operations.
- Schedule and assign drivers, vehicles, or service teams based on delivery requirements.
- Monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
- Coordinate with production, Corporate logistics, and customer service teams.
- Track vehicles and shipments to resolve delays or route issues.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, delivery records, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries related to delivery status.
- Optimize routes and resources to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate dispatch staff.
Internal Process
- Make available all-relevant statutory regulatory certificates and safety data sheets from a supplier and venders, which conforms to National/ International standards.
- Ensure completion of all relevant documents for all domestic and international dispatches.
People development
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Ensure IDP needs of department are executed.
Ensure team engagement & motivation through various engagement initiatives.
