We have an opportunity in ACG Engineering of a Supply Chain Inventory Planner

  1. Job Objective

 The Inventory Planner Analyst is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing inventory levels across raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods using various inventory controlling tools in SAP environment. This role ensures efficient material availability for machine manufacturing and aftermarket operations while minimizing excess inventory, improving accuracy, and supporting business KPIs such as on-time delivery and working capital optimization.

  1. Primary responsibilities


1. Inventory Planning Using SAP
• Use SAP (modules: MM, PP, and sometimes APO/IBP) to monitor inventory, trigger procurement proposals, and analyze stock availability.
• Maintain MRP settings such as lot sizing, reorder points, planning strategies (e.g., MTO/MTS), and safety stock levels.
• Ensure BOMs and routing accuracy for production planning and stock reservation.

2. MRP Execution & Analysis
• Monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP) outputs in SAP on planned orders, purchase requisitions, and stock transfer requirements.
• Analyze MRP exceptions and resolve shortages or excesses in coordination with procurement and production.

3. Inventory Accuracy & Control
• Track stock levels across multiple storage locations (e.g., production floor, warehouse, WIP, spare parts).
• Support cycle counting and year-end physical inventory processes using SAP IM (Inventory Management) and WM (Warehouse Management).
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances in SAP.

4. Demand & Consumption Analysis
• Use historical consumption, project forecasts, and open production orders to align inventory with actual demand.
• Support spare parts forecasting for aftermarket business.

5. Reporting & Dashboards
• Develop and automate inventory reports using SAP queries, Excel, and tools like Power BI for:
• Inventory ageing
• Non-moving/slow-moving stock
• Inventory turns, DOH
• Stock-outs
• Present actionable insights to management based on inventory data analysis.

6. Master Data Governance
• Ensure accurate material master data: material type, procurement type, base unit of measure, lead time, MRP type, valuation class, etc.
• Maintain BOMs, source lists, and planning parameters to ensure MRP accuracy.

  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

Level of Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.

  • APICS/CPIM or SAP certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – MM/PP) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in inventory planning or supply chain analytics within a manufacturing environment using SAP.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP modules: MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and IM (Inventory Management);
  • Strong Excel and data handling skills;
  • Analytical and process-driven mindset with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with WM or APO is a plus.
  • knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Fiori Analytics preferred.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and ETO/MTO workflows.
  • Preferably from capital equipment, pharma machinery, or custom engineering industries
