  1. Job Objective

The Quality Head role is responsible for ensuring the adherence to basic quality expectations from the product from the customer and improving the quality to meet global standards. The role is also responsible for developing standard procedures, test plans and Factory acceptance test plans for the serialization and the inspection products and assist the development of new products with relevant quality procedures.

  1. Primary responsibilities

Strategic and planning

  • Define the Vision and roadmap for the Quality Department
  • Support the Product Manager in line with the strategic plans for product management by developing new capabilities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Contribute to ACG Inspections strategy and develop short term and long term initiatives to improve quality
  • Lead and oversee the development and execution of comprehensive quality assurance strategies for applications deployed on Azure Cloud.
  • Utilize QA frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) to build robust and scalable test suites along with implementation and optimization of API testing strategies

Functional

Operations Management

  • Analyse and understand the software requirements of new projects in order to plan the testing procedures of the project to ensure quality in software

 

  • software debugging to identify and resolve issues, and optimize code performance to ensure efficient, high-quality, and scalable applications.
  • Providing the timelines and effort estimation for Test plan and Test case preparation and execution
  • Understand the customer requirements and the committed quality standards. Prepare systems to provide the optimal quality for achieving the product requirements
  • Preparation of system test plans and sharing it for review with the Delivery and production teams
  • Re-work on the test plans based on the review comments or a product modification and freezing the test plan
  • Verifying and approving the procurement details in the BOM about the sub-assembly and bought out requirements with vendors
  • Perform defect analysis for the projects and review the CAPA plan and implementation to avoid the defects
  • Preparation of plan for User acceptance test for the programs in collaboration with Project manager and other necessary stakeholders
  • Development and execution of Factory acceptance test(FAT) plan
  • Work closely with the delivery teams to ensure the quality adherence of the products
  • Prepare acceptance criteria for the product functions such as reliability, speed, accuracy, etc.
  • Carry out Product releases to product management/ operations and service
  • Ensure the execution of internal audits, external customer visits, ISO audits etc.

Internal process

  • Attend Review / Alignment meetings with the delivery heads for their respective projects
  • Update the weekly quality plan sheet and Resource Allocation plan
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for quality enhancement
  • Monitor / review the tasks done and provide the feedback / comments to improve
  • Develop internal systems and SOPs for quality and define standard response times for quality requests

People development

  • Support capability development programs of ACGi and by identifying and recommending the capability improvement areas
  • Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees in the Function
  • Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
  • Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
  • Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer  and HR.

  • Bachelor Engineering / MCA (preferably from Computer Science / Information Technology and Electronics &Communication)
  • Masters in Engineering with a focus on quality management
  • CMMi, 6 Sigma, TQM etc. certifications

 

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in the testing function and capable of leading Quality team
  • Azure Cloud testing
  • Hands on with python, C++, .Net, Labview programming,
  • Knowledge of electronics and sensors
  • Knowledge of product assembly
